Help when you need it

Use another device to sign in

Use this only when the app you are setting up shows a Quick Connect code.

  1. Keep that code visible on the new device.
  2. On a phone or computer, open Blackbeard’s Vault Jellyfin. If typing the address, keep the s in https://. Sign in with your Jellyfin username and password. Usernames are case-sensitive; match the capital and lowercase letters exactly.
  3. Open your user/profile menu, choose Quick Connect, enter the new device’s code, and confirm.

If Quick Connect is unavailable, use the app’s username and password sign-in. A local app PIN is separate from your Jellyfin password.

Something not working?
  • Can’t connect? Check the s in https:// and copy the full address again. Don’t add a port number.
  • Can’t sign in? Match every capital and lowercase letter in your username. Use your Jellyfin account, not your email or an Emby login. Remove accidental spaces.
  • Video or sound problem? Update the app, reopen it, and try another title. The Moonfin alternative is another option.

Still stuck? Message @Captain Cruv on Discord. Include your device, app, and the exact error or a picture. Never send your password.

Can I download on Apple TV?

No. Use an approved phone, tablet, or computer for offline downloads. Download instructions.

Why this app? Details and sources

Swiftfin is the free official Jellyfin video app for Apple devices. Its recent Apple TV overhaul and follow-up fixes deserve more weight than complaints about older versions. It uses your existing Jellyfin account for normal viewing without an extra server plugin. Moonfin remains a strong free alternative if its layout or playback suits your device better.
