Most Intel/AMD PCs use x64. Which Windows download? Choose x64 for most Intel/AMD computers. Choose ARM64 only if Windows Settings → System → About says your computer uses an ARM processor. Run the downloaded .exe installer. The current app supports Windows 10 or later. Linux installation Use a compatible Wayland desktop session. Choose the package for your distribution and processor from Moonfin’s installation instructions. Debian/Ubuntu usually use .deb; RPM-based systems use .rpm; AppImage is another option. If X11 gives poor playback, use the browser while asking Cruv for help. Prefer to skip installation? Watch in your browser. 2 Add Blackbeard’s Vault Open Moonfin and choose Add Server. In Server Address, enter the address below, then choose Connect. COPY THIS SERVER ADDRESS https://jellyfin.blackbeardsvault.com Keep the s in https://. Help when you need it Use another device to sign in Quick Connect lets an already signed-in phone or computer approve the device you’re setting up. Use it when your app shows a Quick Connect code. Keep the code visible on the new device. On a phone or computer, open Blackbeard’s Vault Jellyfin and sign in to the same Jellyfin account. If typing the address, keep the s in https://. Usernames are case-sensitive; match the capital and lowercase letters exactly. Open your user/profile menu, choose Quick Connect, enter the new device’s code, and confirm. If Quick Connect is unavailable, use password sign-in on the new device. A local app PIN is a different optional setting. Something not working? Can’t connect? Check the s in https:// and copy the full server address again. Don’t add a port number. Can’t sign in? Match every capital and lowercase letter in your username. Use your Jellyfin account, not your email or an Emby login. Remove accidental spaces. Video or sound problem? Close and reopen the app, check for an update, and try another title. Still stuck? Message @Captain Cruv on Discord. Include your device, the app name, and a picture or the exact wording of the error. Never send your password. Moonfin unavailable or not working? Open Jellyfin in your browser or choose another desktop player from the official Jellyfin client catalog. Use your existing Jellyfin account. Appearance, subtitles, and shared devices Choose Skip setup to start with the default appearance. You can change it later. Choose your audio and subtitle languages during setup, or under Settings → Playback & SyncPlay. On a shared device, review Settings → Account & Security → Auto Login. An optional local app PIN is separate from your Jellyfin password. Picture and HDR settings Keep the default player settings for your first movie. Browser and desktop playback support differ. On Windows, Moonfin normally converts HDR for SDR output. If you have a compatible HDR display and want native HDR, review Settings → Playback & SyncPlay → Video Playback Preferences → Native HDR output and the playback guide. Mac: install from a disk image instead The Moonfin Desktop downloads also offer a stable .dmg. Open it and move Moonfin to Applications. Check that build’s current macOS requirements. App details and sources Moonfin is free. You do not need a new Moonfin account or an extra server plugin to watch. Cruv manages optional server features. App features and playback support can differ between devices. Check the Mac App Store or selected installer for compatibility. Upstream documents list different macOS minimums, so the requirements of the build you are installing matter.
