Black Legion draft color notes

Use AK Quick Gen Old Gold for the Chaos gold. The remaining palette and painting order are still open.

Gold

  • Base: AK Quick Gen Old Gold.
  • Shade: 1 part Citadel Agrax Earthshade to 1 part Army Painter Speedpaint Medium.
  • Old Gold has been tested over dark neutral grey with good coverage. A white undercoat is not needed for that result; the exact grey paint is still undecided.
  • Keep the main gold and shading before varnish. After all varnishing, optionally restore selected accessible faces or add narrow reflective accents with Old Gold, preserving the shaded recesses. These fresh layers and accents remain unvarnished and may need touch-ups.

Finish

Pure AK Ultra Matte is the default, using two thin, consistent coverage coats. Satin is optional. Do not add another all-over varnish coat after optional metallic accents.
