1 Install Moonfin

On your Fire TV, open the Amazon Appstore, search for Moonfin, asand install it if offered.

Beforeis youmissing start

  • Use your supplied username, not your email. An Emby account is not automatically your Jellyfin account.

3 Sign in

If you see Who’s watching? appears,, choose your existingprofile profile. If yours is missing, chooseor Add User.

If toyou entersee youra username.

Choosesign-in code, choose Password if Moonfin opens Quick Connect automatically.. Enter your supplied Jellyfin Usernameusername if requestedasked, andthen your Password,password. then chooseChoose Sign In.

You’re ready to watch.

Choose Skip setup toif keepMoonfin theasks defaults.about Openappearance. Pick a movie or episode and test picture, audio, and subtitles.

Expected result: your available Jellyfin libraries and watch progress appear. Moonfin is a free independent client; ordinary streaming does not require the Moonbase server plugin. Extra integrations and settings sync depend on what Cruv enables on the server.

Help when you need it

Use another device to sign in

Quick Connect is offered, you can authorize the displayed code fromlets an already signed-in browserphone insteador ofcomputer typingapprove the device you’re setting up. Use it when your app shows a password.Quick FollowConnect code.

  1. Keep the code visible on the new device.
  2. On a phone or computer, open Blackbeard’s Vault Jellyfin and sign in to the same Jellyfin account. Match your username’s capital and lowercase letters exactly.
  3. Open your user/profile menu, choose Quick Connect, enter the new device’s code, and confirm.

If Quick Connect instructions.is unavailable, use password sign-in on the new device. A local app PIN is a different optional setting.

  • Can’t officialconnect? Check the s in https:// and copy the full server address again. Don’t add a port number.
  • Can’t sign in? Match every capital and lowercase letter in your username. Use your Jellyfin account, not your email or an Emby login. Remove accidental spaces.
  • Video or sound problem? Close and reopen the app, check for an update, and try another title.

IfStill stuck? Message @Captain Cruv on Discord. Include your device, the app name, and a picture or the exact wording of the error. Never send your password.

Moonfin is unavailable or hasnot aworking?

On playbackcompatible problem,Fire OS devices, install the official Jellyfin app from the Amazon AppstoreAppstore. onEnter the same full server address, choose Use a compatiblepassword, and sign in with your Jellyfin account. If neither app is offered, send Cruv your exact device model.

Fire OS: the current Moonfin app supports Fire OS 6 or later. Use Moonfin when offered in your store, with official Jellyfin as an alternative.

Vega OS

OS:

 Moonfin has a separate Vega OS Smart-TV build.app. First checkCheck your device’s Amazonstore Appstorefirst. for a compatible Moonfin listing. The project’s installation wiki and release notes disagree about whether the VegaIts store rollout is complete,not consistently documented, so storesend availabilityCruv isyour notmodel guaranteed.

Ifif it is missing,missing. followAndroid APKs and the official Jellyfin Android TV app are not Vega substitutes.

Advanced: install the Vega build manually

Use the current Moonfin Vega installation instructionsguide for thatyour exact model,model. or send Cruv your model/OS for help choosing another streaming device. Vega sideloadingThis uses its owna .vpkg packageand anda developer workflow;installation process, rather than an Android .apkAPK. isWhen not compatible. The official Jellyfin Android TV app is not a Vega fallback.

App details and sources

Moonfin is free. You do not need a new Moonfin account or an extra server plugin to watch. Cruv manages optional server features. App features and playback support can differ frombetween the Fire OS steps above.devices.

Troubleshooting

  • Cannot connect: check the complete

    https://jellyfin.blackbeardsvault.com address, including https://. Do not add 8096, 8920, or Emby’s Port 0. Try signing in through the same address in a browser.

  • Sign-in rejected: remove accidental spaces and use your supplied Jellyfin username. If browser sign-in also fails, stop repeated attempts and ask Cruv.
  • Browsing works but playback fails: update the app, leave quality on Auto where offered, and try another title. Test the audio and subtitles too. Format, HDR, and surround-sound support depend on your device and app; a supported platform does not guarantee every file will direct-play.
  • Need another client: use the platform alternative or the browser guide while reporting the problem.
