Install the recommendedfree nativeapp, Jellyfinadd appBlackbeard’s on a compatible Windows PC, Mac, or Linux computer. The Jellyfin web client remains the simplest option when you prefer not to install an app.

Before you start

  • Be an active member of the DiscordVault, and havesign in.

Use the Jellyfin username and password suppliedfrom byCruv. Cruv.Need an account? Ask Cruv foron aDiscord Jellyfin(active accountmembers).

Use your supplied username, not your email. An Emby account is not automatically your Jellyfin account.

Install Moonfin

  • Choose your computer below and install Windows 10 or later:Moonfin.

    Mac: open Moonfin’s downloads → Desktop and follow the stable release link. Choose the Windows .exe installer matching x64 or ARM64 in your PC’s System → About information.
  • Mac: use the Moonfin App Store listing→
    Windows: when compatible with your Mac. The Desktop download page also linksget the stableinstaller .dmg;→

    For open it and move Moonfin to Applications. Check the selected build’s current macOS requirements.

  • Linux:Windows, choose the releaseWindows package.exe forfile yourfrom distributionthe and processor:release’s .deb for Debian/Ubuntu, .rpm for RPM-based systems, or .AppImageAssets. Most Intel/AMD PCs use x64.
    Which Windows download?

    Choose x64 for most Intel/AMD computerscomputers. orChoose ARM64 foronly if Windows Settings → System → About says your computer uses an ARM computer.processor. Run the downloaded .exe installer. The current app supports Windows 10 or later.

    Linux installation

    Use a compatible Wayland desktop sessionsession. Choose the package for your distribution and yourprocessor distribution’from Moonfin’s normal package installation process;instructions. anDebian/Ubuntu usually use .deb; RPM-based systems use .rpm; AppImage mayis needanother permission to run as a program.option. If an X11 session gives poor playback, use the browser while asking Cruv for help.

  1. Open Moonfin. Chooseand choose Add Server. if the server-entry screen is not already open.

  2. In Server Address, enter https://jellyfin.blackbeardsvault.comthe andaddress below, then choose Connect.

3 Sign in

If you see Who’s watching? appears,, choose your existingprofile profile. If yours is missing, chooseor Add User.

Choosesign-in code, choose Password if Moonfin opens Quick Connect automatically.. Enter your supplied Jellyfin Usernameusername if requestedasked, andthen your Password,password. then chooseChoose Sign In.

Help when you need it

Use another device to sign in

Expected result: your available Jellyfin libraries and watch progress appear. Moonfin is a free independent client; ordinary streaming does not require the Moonbase server plugin. Extra integrations and settings sync depend on what Cruv enables on the server.

If Quick Connect is offered, you can authorize the displayed code fromlets an already signed-in browserphone insteador computer approve the device you’re setting up. Use it when your app shows a Quick Connect code.

  1. Keep the code visible on the new device.
  2. On a phone or computer, open Blackbeard’s Vault Jellyfin and sign in to the same Jellyfin account. Match your username’s capital and lowercase letters exactly.
  3. Open your user/profile menu, choose Quick Connect, enter the new device’s code, and confirm.

If Quick Connect is unavailable, use password sign-in on the new device. A local app PIN is a different optional setting.

Something not working?
  • Can’t connect? Check the s in https:// and copy the full server address again. Don’t add a port number.
  • Can’t sign in? Match every capital and lowercase letter in your username. Use your Jellyfin account, not your email or an Emby login. Remove accidental spaces.
  • Video or sound problem? Close and reopen the app, check for an update, and try another title.

Moonfin Followunavailable or not working?

Open Jellyfin in your browser or choose another desktop player from the Quickofficial ConnectJellyfin instructionsclient catalog. Use your existing Jellyfin account.

Picture and HDR settings

Keep the default player settings for your first movie. Browser and desktop playback andsupport a browser.differ. On Windows, Moonfin normally converts HDR for SDR output. If you have ana compatible HDR display and want native HDR, review Settings → Playback & SyncPlay → Video Playback Preferences → Native HDR output and the playback guide;.

Mac: thisinstall from a disk image instead

The Moonfin Desktop downloads also offer a stable .dmg. Open it and move Moonfin to Applications. Check that build’s current macOS requirements.

Alternatives

UseUpstream documents list different macOS minimums, so the officialrequirements Jellyfin client catalog for another desktop player, or open Jellyfin in a browser. Your existing Jellyfin account works with these alternatives.

Troubleshooting

  • Cannot connect: checkof the completebuild https://jellyfin.blackbeardsvault.comyou address,are includinginstalling https://. Do not add 8096, 8920, or Emby’s Port 0. Try signing in through the same address in a browser.
  • Sign-in rejected: remove accidental spaces and use your supplied Jellyfin username. If browser sign-in also fails, stop repeated attempts and ask Cruv.
  • Browsing works but playback fails: update the app, leave quality on Auto where offered, and try another title. Test the audio and subtitles too. Format, HDR, and surround-sound support depend on your device and app; a supported platform does not guarantee every file will direct-play.
  • Need another client: use the platform alternative or the browser guide while reporting the problem.
