Two details to get right

Keep the s: the server address starts with https://.

Usernames are case-sensitive: copy the capital and lowercase letters exactly.

Help when you need it

Use another device to sign in

Quick Connect lets an already signed-in phone or computer approve the device you’re setting up. Use it when your app shows a Quick Connect code.

  1. Keep the code visible on the new device.
  2. On a phone or computer, open Blackbeard’s Vault Jellyfin and sign in to the same Jellyfin account. Match your username’s capital and lowercase letters exactly.
  3. Open your user/profile menu, choose Quick Connect, enter the new device’s code, and confirm.

If Quick Connect is unavailable, use password sign-in on the new device. A local app PIN is a different optional setting.

Why do some devices use a different app?

Moonfin is the first choice on most supported devices. Samsung and LG are simpler with their official Jellyfin store app. Fire TV models need a quick model check. You do not need to compare all the options—follow the guide for your device.

Something not working?
  • Can’t connect? Check the s in https:// and copy the full server address again. Don’t add a port number.
  • Can’t sign in? Match every capital and lowercase letter in your username. Use your Jellyfin account, not your email or an Emby login. Remove accidental spaces.
  • Video or sound problem? Close and reopen the app, check for an update, and try another title.
